CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – North Carolina junior attackman Dominic Pietramala notched Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week honors, while UNC freshman goalie Josh Marcus and Virginia graduate goalie Jake Marek shared ACC Defensive Player of the Week for games played from March 30-April 5.
 
All five ACC teams are ranked in the latest USILA Coaches poll, with North Carolina ascending to No. 1 this week. The Tar Heels’ Saturday opponent, Notre Dame, moved up to No. 2 this week. Syracuse is ranked No. 5, Duke is No. 11 and Virginia is No. 13.
 
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF WEEK – Dominic Pietramala, Jr., A, North Carolina (Lutherville, Maryland)
• Posted five goals in North Carolina’s 14-9 win over No. 3 Syracuse on Saturday, April 4.
• The five-goal effort was his eighth career game with five-or-more goals, and the fourth of 2026.
• Moved into the top-10 in UNC's career goals list, sitting tied for seventh.
 
CO-DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF WEEK – Josh Marcus, Fr., G, North Carolina (Westport, Connecticut)
• Posted 15 saves in North Carolina’s 14-9 win over No. 3 Syracuse on Saturday.
• The 15 stops was a career best.
• Became the first UNC goalie to make 15-or-more saves since 2024.
 
CO-DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF WEEK – Jake Marek, Gr., G, Virginia (Plantation, Florida)
• Made 13 saves in Virginia’s 14-10 victory at No. 7 Duke on Saturday, marking his fourth straight game with double-digit saves.
• Despite facing 47 shots from the nation’s top-scoring offense (16.89 goals per game), Marek held the Blue Devils to only 10 goals—their second-lowest output of the season.
• Duke’s man-up unit, which entered Saturday ranked No. 3 nationally (.556), managed just one goal on three opportunities. Marek made a crucial save on Duke’s first extra man opportunity and forced a turnover on their second.
