2026 NCAA Tournament Bracket
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – North Carolina and Stanford advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2026 NCAA Division I Women’s Lacrosse Championship with second-round wins on Sunday, May 10. The No. 2 seed Tar Heels defeated ACC rival Clemson, 17-6, while Stanford rallied late to oust No. 7 seed Michigan, 13-12.
The Tar Heels and Cardinal will match up in the quarterfinals on Thursday, May 14, in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. It will mark the teams’ third meeting this season. They last squared off for the ACC Championship on April 26, with UNC prevailing, 12-8.
Chloe Humphrey scored seven goals and added four assists as North Carolina (17-1) rolled to the victory over Clemson. Anna Brown scored a pair of goals for the Tigers (15-6), which had advanced to the second round with a 19-6 victory over Davidson on Friday, May 8.
After winning a 7-5 defensive battle over Penn State on Friday, Stanford (17-4) rallied in the final three minutes to top No. 7 seed Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan, as the Cardinal earned its first-ever berth in the NCAA Quarterfinals. Jordyn Case’s goal with less than a minute remaining broke a 12-12 tie for the eventual game winner. Mallory Hasselbeck and Aliya Polisky each recorded hat tricks for Stanford, which set a program record with its 17th win of the season.
Boston College and Syracuse each had their seasons end on Sunday with one-goal losses in the second round. BC (10-7) fell on the road to No. 5 seed Stony Brook, 10-9, while Syracuse (14-6) lost in overtime to No. 6 seed Navy, 11-10.
Notre Dame (12-6) saw its season come to an end on Friday with a 13-12 defeat to James Madison in the first round in Evanston, Illinois.
The winners of the four quarterfinal games on Thursday will advance to the national semifinals at Martin Stadium in Evanston, Illinois. The semifinal games will be shown on ESPNU at 3 and 5:30 p.m. ET on Friday, May 22. The championship game will air on ESPN on Sunday, May 24, at noon ET.
ACC teams have won 15 national titles, and at least one ACC team has played in the national title game in 15 of the last 16 seasons. The ACC has had at least one team in the national semifinals in 35 straight tournaments and 40 times overall. ACC teams have made 32 championship game appearances and 59 national semifinal appearances.
