2026 NCAA Tournament Bracket
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Atlantic Coast Conference men’s lacrosse teams will comprise half of the quarterfinal field for the 2026 NCAA Championship after first-round tournament wins this weekend. No. 2 seed Notre Dame, No. 3 seed North Carolina, No. 6 seed Syracuse and Duke each earned victories to move on to the quarterfinal weekend.
This is the fifth time that four ACC teams advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals (2009, 2010, 2021, 2024).
Notre Dame (11-2) rolled to an 18-5 victory over Jacksonville on Sunday, May 10, in South Bend, Indiana. The Fighting Irish advance to play Johns Hopkins on Saturday, May 16, in Hempstead, New York. Goalie Thomas Ricciardelli made 18 saves while allowing just three goals. Luke Miller tied the program record for goals in an NCAA Tournament game with five to go along with an assist for a career-high six-point effort.
North Carolina (13-4) and Syracuse (12-5) each earned wins this weekend and will meet for the third time this season on Saturday in Hempstead, New York. The Tar Heels cruised past UAlbany, 24-6, on Saturday, May 9, in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, behind an NCAA Tournament-record 10 goals from Dominic Pietramala.
Syracuse outlasted Yale, 16-15, on Sunday as goalie Jimmy McCool made two point-blank saves in the final minute to finish with 17 saves. Michael Leo and Finn Thomson each recorded hat tricks for the Orange, who will make their third straight quarterfinal appearance.
Duke (10-4) went on the road and topped No. 4 seed Richmond, 14-12, on Saturday night in Richmond, Virginia. The Blue Devils will play Georgetown on Sunday in Newark, Delaware. Liam Kershis registered three goals and two assists and Cal Girard won 21-of-27 faceoffs.
Virginia’s season came to a close on Sunday with a 14-10 loss to Georgetown in Charlottesville, Virginia. Ryan Colsey and Truitt Sunderland each scored two goals for UVA (10-7).
The quarterfinal games, hosted by Delaware and Hofstra, also will air on ESPNU. The Division I semifinal and championship games will be held at Scott Stadium in Charlottesville, Virginia, and hosted by the University of Virginia. The semifinals will be televised on ESPN2 on Saturday, May 23, and the championship game will be played Monday, May 25, on ESPN.
At least one current ACC member team has advanced to the national semifinals in 44 of the last 46 years and the five active ACC teams have combined for 27 national championships, including 11 of the last 17.
