GAINESVILLE, Ga. (theACC.com) – Headlined by Stanford’s Second Varsity Eight National Championship, Stanford and Virginia both finished in the top five at the 2026 NCAA Rowing Championships on Sunday, May 31, at Lake Lanier Olympic Park.

With Stanford’s fourth straight 2V8 national championship, the Cardinal placed second in the final team standings, five points behind national champion Texas. The Second Varsity Eight crossed the line at 5:52.905, the fastest time ever recorded for a 2V8 in NCAA Championship history. Stanford wrapped up the morning with a second-place finish in the Varsity Eight and a fifth-place finish in the Varsity Four to finish with 125 points.

Virginia (114 points) finished fourth in the final team standings. The Cavaliers saw their best finish in the Second Varsity Eight, crossing the line in third place, while placing fourth in the Varsity Eight and sixth in the Varsity Four. It marks the best finish for Virginia since it claimed fifth in 2021.

California and Syracuse also turned in top-10 finishes, with the Golden Bears (89 points) placing eighth and the Orange (80) finishing ninth. The Golden Bears were led by their Varsity Four, which won the B Final, while the Orange’s best finish came in the Varsity Eight B Final, where they placed third. The four ACC teams in the top 10 are the most among all conferences.

Miami (54 points), which competed in its first-ever NCAA Rowing Championship, finished 13th to round out the ACC contingent.
