CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Student-athletes from across the Atlantic Coast Conference visited Charlotte, North Carolina, and the ACC headquarters for the fourth annual ACC Career Trek, held June 24-26.
Now in its fourth year, the ACC Career Trek provides student-athletes with opportunities to explore potential career paths, network with professionals and gain insight into what employers look for in potential candidates. Participants also gained hands-on experience and behind-the-scenes exposure to a variety of industries.
Nearly 30 student-athletes representing ACC member institutions traveled to Charlotte, where they met with representatives from 12 companies and participated in panel discussions covering six industries: media, real estate, banking, healthcare, government and sports.
"At the ACC, we're committed to helping our student-athletes succeed in every aspect of their lives," said Commissioner Jim Phillips, Ph.D. "The ACC Career Trek is a meaningful extension of that commitment, providing opportunities to build professional relationships, explore career interests and gain experiences that prepare them for success long after their playing days are over."
At the conclusion of the program, résumés from all attendees were collected and distributed to participating employers and professionals.
