CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – The 2026 Major League Baseball Draft concluded on Sunday, July 12, with Rounds 5-20, as 49 players from the Atlantic Coast Conference were selected on the second day. After 19 players were selected on Day One, Saturday, July 11, a total of 68 ACC standouts were selected to begin their professional careers. The ACC's 68 draft picks rank third-most in league history.
Of the 16 ACC Baseball programs, 15 had at least one player selected in the 2026 MLB Draft. Georgia Tech led all ACC programs with eight selections, followed by Florida State with seven and North Carolina with six. Eight ACC programs had at least five players selected in the 2026 MLB Draft.
Of the 30 MLB franchises, 26 selected at least one ACC student-athlete throughout the two-day event, with the Athletics taking six players from the ACC. The San Diego Padres picked five ACC standouts, while the Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Guardians, Miami Marlins, Philadelphia Phillies and Pittsburgh Pirates each added four selections.
This marked the 35th consecutive year that at least one ACC player has been selected in the opening round of the MLB Draft and the 11th straight year that the ACC has placed at least one draftee among the top 15 picks. The ACC’s four picks in the top 10 of the 2026 MLB Draft are the most in league history.
