(theACC.com) – ACC Football continues its Week 2 slate with four games on Friday night, September 11, as four conference teams take the field at home in non-conference action. The ACC will be featured across ACC Network, ESPNU, ACCNX and ESPN2, with three games kicking off at 7 p.m. ET. No. 24 Louisville welcomes Villanova on ACC Network, NC State takes on Richmond on ESPNU and No. 25 Virginia faces Norfolk State on ACCNX in the 7 p.m. ET window. The night concludes with a Power Four non-conference matchup, as Boston College hosts Big Ten opponent Rutgers at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN2 in the Eagles’ annual Red Bandanna Game. Friday’s four-game slate follows Thursday night’s Week 2 opener between No. 7 Miami and Florida A&M and leads into a nine-game Saturday schedule, giving the ACC 14 games across three consecutive days from Thursday through Saturday. The Cardinals will play at home for the first time after opening the season against No. 9 Ole Miss in Nashville. The Cardinals are coming off a 41-38 heartbreaker against No. 9 Ole Miss, rallying from a 14-point fourth-quarter deficit to tie the game at 38 before the Rebels connected on a 48-yard field goal as time expired. Transfer quarterback Lincoln Kienholz impressed in his first collegiate start, completing 18-of-29 passes for 307 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. He became the first quarterback in Louisville history to throw for 300 yards in a season opener. Louisville showcased its big-play ability against Ole Miss, scoring three touchdowns of 30 yards or longer. Tre Richardson produced a 30-yard rushing touchdown and 62-yard receiving score, while Lawayne McCoy hauled in a 54-yard touchdown reception. Richardson was one of Louisville's top offensive weapons in Week 1, finishing with a team-high 83 receiving yards on four catches while adding 44 yards on the ground. His 62-yard touchdown reception tied the game at 24 late in the third quarter. Villanova enters Friday 1-1 and ranked No. 18 in the FCS, coming off a 17-16 road victory over Bucknell. The Wildcats led 14-0 at halftime before Dominic LeBlanc's 22-yard field goal with 8:20 remaining provided the winning points. Veteran quarterback Pat McQuaide leads the Villanova offense and enters the matchup with more than 8,000 career passing yards. He threw for 218 yards and two touchdowns against Bucknell, with both scores going to sophomore Braden Reed. Villanova's defense has been particularly effective against the run, allowing just 95.0 rushing yards per game and 2.7 yards per carry through its first two contests. The Wolfpack will be looking for their first win of the season after opening with a 34-8 setback at Virginia. NC State has been dominant in non-conference home games under head coach Dave Doeren, posting a 32-2 record in non-ACC contests at Carter-Finley Stadium during his tenure. The Wolfpack is also 12-1 in home openers under Doeren. NC State quarterback CJ Bailey entered the 2026 season as one of the ACC’s most experienced and accomplished returning quarterbacks, beginning his junior campaign with 5,518 career passing yards and 42 touchdown passes. Richmond enters Friday night's matchup 2-0, opening the season with a 35-14 win over Bucknell before earning a 28-21 road victory at Howard. The Spiders, who are ranked No. 21 in the FCS poll, are off to a 2-0 start for the first time in five years. Richmond quarterback Ashten Snelsire has provided an efficient start to the season, throwing for 460 yards and six touchdowns without an interception through the Spiders' first two games. Freshman wide receiver Bryce Allen has emerged as one of Richmond's top playmakers, totaling 143 receiving yards and three touchdowns on seven receptions through two games. Richmond has previous experience pulling off an upset against an ACC opponent, defeating Virginia in 2016. Friday marks the Spiders' first matchup against an ACC team since joining the Patriot League for football this season. Norfolk State has faced an ACC opponent just once previously, falling at Wake Forest in 2021. No. 25 Virginia returns to action following an open week when it hosts Norfolk State on Friday, September 11, at 7 p.m. ET. The Cavaliers opened the season with a convincing 34-8 ACC victory over NC State on August 29. Friday night is the second of seven home games at Scott Stadium for Virginia this season. The Cavaliers have won eight of their last nine home openers dating back to 2017 and opened 2026 in front of a sold-out Scott Stadium crowd against NC State. Virginia entered the national rankings following its season-opening victory and will take the field at No. 25 against the Spartans. The Cavaliers are coming off a school-record 11-win season in 2025, which included an appearance in the ACC Championship Game and a victory in the Gator Bowl. Pribula completed 9-of-11 passes for 155 yards and two scores while rushing for a career-high 110 yards on 15 carries. Virginia is expected to welcome back linebacker Kam Robinson, who has been cleared to make his 2026 debut after suffering a season-ending knee injury last October. The Spartans opened the season with a 56-0 victory over Winston-Salem State before falling 31-10 at Old Dominion last weekend. The Eagles and Scarlet Knights meet for the 29th time, with Boston College holding a 20-7-1 advantage in the all-time series. Rutgers won the most recent meeting, rallying for a 22-21 victory at Alumni Stadium in the 2022 season opener. Both teams will be looking to bounce back from season-opening losses. Boston College fell 34-15 at Cincinnati, while Rutgers dropped a 37-21 decision to UMass. Boston College quarterback Mason McKenzie accounted for much of the Eagles’ offense in his season debut, leading BC in both passing and rushing against Cincinnati. Rutgers wide receiver KJ Duff enters the matchup following a huge Week 1 performance, totaling 196 receiving yards and three touchdowns against UMass. Duff entered the season ranked second among returning Big Ten players in receiving yards.
