CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – North Carolina redshirt junior Ciara O’Shea and Syracuse sophomore Kiera Rogan were selected as the Atlantic Coast Conference Cross Country Women’s Co-Performers of the Week. Syracuse’s Connell Alford was selected as Men’s Cross Country Performer of the Week, while North Carolina’s Caden Leonard was named the Men’s Cross Country Freshman of the Week and Virginia’s Chase Gilbert was named Women’s Cross Country Freshman of the Week.
 
ACC MEN’S PERFORMER OF THE WEEK
Connell Alford, Jr., Syracuse (Chelsea, Mich.)

• Won the Harry Groves Spiked Shoe invitational with a time of 25:27.6.
• Paced the Syracuse team to sweep the top five spots for the second straight weekend take eight of the top 10.
• The Orange won by scoring the minimum 15 points, defeating Pitt (55 points), Penn State (94) and others.

 
ACC MEN’S FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Caden Leonard, Fr., North Carolina (Southlake, Texas)

• In his collegiate debut, Leonard placed fifth at the Virginia Invitational with a time of 17:51.5.
• He was one of the four Tar Heels in the top five, aiding in North Carolina’s win at the meet.

 
ACC WOMEN’S CO- PERFORMER OF THE WEEK
Ciara O’Shea, R-Jr., North Carolina (Richmond, Ky.)

• Won the Virginia Invitational with a 5k time of 16:46.0, eight seconds ahead of the next closest athlete.
• Led the Tar Heels to a team win at the Virginia Invitational.
• Also named the USTFCCCA Division I Women’s National Athlete of the Week on Monday.

 
ACC WOMEN’S CO-PERFORMER OF THE WEEK
Kiera Rogan, So., Syracuse (Schuylerville, N.Y.)

• Won the Harry Groves Spiked Shoe Invitational by nearly seven seconds, with a 6k time of 20:15.1.
• Syracuse defeated No. 10 Penn State and ACC rival Pitt at the meet.
