Football September 15, 2026 Clemson’s Gideon Davidson, Duke’s Micah Sahakian Named to 2026 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Clemson running back Gideon Davidson and Duke offensive lineman Micah Sahakian have been named to the 2026 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, Allstate and the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) announced Tuesday. Davidson and Sahakian are two of just 11 Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) student-athletes selected to this year’s team, which recognizes college football student-athletes for their outstanding commitment to community service, academic achievement and athletic excellence. The Atlantic Coast Conference is one of just three conferences with multiple FBS honorees on the 2026 team. Established in 1992, the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team is one of college football’s most prestigious honors for community impact and recognizes student-athletes whose leadership extends beyond the field and into their communities. Gideon Davidson, Clemson, Running Back Born in Ghana and adopted at age five, Davidson is passionate about expanding adoption opportunities. On his 20th birthday this spring, he launched “Gid’s Fundraiser” for Flourish Adoption Ministries in Greenville, South Carolina, raising $12,375 and personally contributing $5,000 to help reduce financial barriers for adoptive families and support birth mothers. Davidson has also participated in numerous Clemson service initiatives, including Habitat for Humanity, Kicks, Cleats and Kids and events with Clemson LIFE, which provides a collegiate experience for individuals with intellectual disabilities. He also took part in Clemson Football and P.A.W. Journey’s international service trip to Positano, Italy, in spring 2025. Micah Sahakian, Duke, Offensive Lineman Sahakian has made four service trips to Lebanon over the last five years, most recently in January 2026, working with Living With Power to support Syrian refugees and Lebanese communities. With family ties to Lebanon, he has helped lead sports camps and medical clinics while serving adults and children facing housing, education and food insecurity. Sahakian has also made an impact in the Durham community and beyond through a variety of service initiatives. He has volunteered locally at Duke Children’s Hospital, New Hope Elementary School and the Emily K Center. The 2026 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team was selected from 162 nominees and includes 22 student-athletes – 11 from the FBS and 11 from the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS), Divisions II and III and the NAIA – along with honorary head coach Kalani Sitake of BYU. Collectively, this year’s honorees have contributed more than 12,000 hours of volunteer service, raised more than $100,000 for charitable causes and launched seven community initiatives and foundations. For the third year, one of the 11 FBS members of the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team will receive the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy, presented to the student-athlete who best combines exemplary community service with leadership and performance on and off the field. The recipient will also serve as captain of the Good Works Team. Fans can vote for the 2026 Allstate Wuerffel Trophy recipient and Good Works Team captain through November 3 at ESPN.com/Allstate. Three finalists will be announced in November, with the recipient selected by a national voting committee and announced during The Home Depot College Football Awards on December 11.
