2026-27 ACC Swimming & Diving Season Set to Begin Thursday

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) - The 2026-27 ACC Swimming & Diving season will begin Thursday, September 24, with the inaugural College Swimming League (CSL) match featuring Louisville.
 
The No. 8 Cardinals’ women and No. 12 men will travel to Westmont, Illinois, to compete against No. 5/No 2 Indiana, No. 6/No. 8 Michigan and No. 11/No. 13 Ohio State. This meet will begin at 6:30 p.m. ET and stream live on ESPN+.
 
CSL action continues Friday, September 25, with No. 1/10 Virginia competing against conference foe No. 9/7 NC State, No. 15/18 Alabama and No. 12/16 Georgia. The Cavaliers and Wolfpack will also be competing in Westmont, at 6:30 p.m. ET on ESPN+.
 
The No. 16 North Carolina women and No. 19 men will open their season in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Friday against Queens at 11 a.m. ET.
 
Virginia is the preseason No. 1 team in the CSCAA Women’s Swimming & Diving Top 25 Poll, followed by No. 2 Stanford, No. 7 California, No. 8 Louisville, No. 9 NC State, No. 16 North Carolina and No. 21 Duke. 
 
California leads the ACC contingent at No. 4 in the CSCAA Men’s Swimming & Diving Top 25 Poll, followed by No. 7 NC State, No. 8 Stanford, No. 10 Virginia, No. 11 Virginia Tech, No. 12 Louisville, No. 19 North Carolina and No. 23 Florida State.

  • The Virginia women’s swimming program won its record sixth consecutive NCAA Women’s Swimming & Diving championship at the 2026 NCAA Championships.
  • Stanford women’s swimming & diving is the only program in the nation to finish in the top 10 in every NCAA Championship dating back to the 1975-76 season, most recently finishing as the runner-up in the 2026 NCAA Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships.
  • Virginia head coach Todd DeSorbo was named the George Haines Coach of the Year by the American Swimming Coaches Association for the second straight year.
  • The 2027 ACC Swimming & Diving Championships will take place February 16-20, 2027, at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, North Carolina.
