ACC Announces Swimming & Diving Performers of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) - In the first set of weekly honors for the 2026-27 Atlantic Coast Conference Swimming & Diving season, NC State’s Jerry Fox was named the ACC Men’s Swimmer of the Week, while Georgia Tech’s Max Fowler earned ACC Men’s Diver of the Week honors. Virginia’s Claire Curzan was named the ACC Women’s Swimmer of the Week, while Georgia Tech’s Lizzie Powley was named the ACC Women’s Diver of the Week.
 
ACC MEN’S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
Jerry Fox, Sr., NC State (Raleigh, North Carolina)
  • Helped lead the No. 7 Wolfpack to a second-place finish in a College Swimming League meet against No. 10 Virginia, No. 15 Georgia and No. 18 Alabama with two first-place individual finishes and two first-place relay finishes
    • 100 free: 41.79 (first place)
    • 50 free: 19.13 (first place)
    • 200 free relay: 1:15.00, 19.03 split (first place)
    • 200 medley relay skins: 19.64 (first place), 18.58 (second place), 19.73 (second place)
 
ACC MEN’S DIVER OF THE WEEK
Max Fowler, Sr., Georgia Tech (Burke, Virginia)
  • Finished first in the 1-meter dive (419.18).
    • NCAA Zone Cut
    • Set a new program record
  • Finished first in the 3-meter dive (421.58).
    • NCAA Zone Cut
 
ACC WOMEN’S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
Claire Curzan, Sr., Virginia (Cary, North Carolina)
  • Helped lead No. 1 Virginia to a College Swimming League meet win over No. 9 NC State, No. 12 Georgia and No. 15 Alabama with three first-place individual finishes and two first-place relay finishes.
    • 50 back skins: 23.50, 23.59, 23.47, 23.74 (won all four heats)
    • 100 fly: 50.25 (NCAA Cut)
    • 200 back: 1:46.85
    • 4x50 free relay: 21.04 split
    • 4x50 medley super skins relay: 23.13, 23.00, 23.38, 22.47 splits
  • Was named the Female MVP of the meet after scoring 95 of Virginia’s 666 total points.
 
ACC WOMEN’S DIVER OF THE WEEK
Lizzie Powley, Sr., Georgia Tech (Bradford, England)
  • Finished first in the 1-meter dive (306.53).

  • Finished second in the 3-meter dive (311.78).
