CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Clemson junior midfielder Ransford Gyan was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, while Notre Dame junior goalkeeper Blake Kelly earned ACC Defensive Player of the Week honors for matches played from August 31-September 6, as announced Tuesday.
 
OFFENSIVE – Ransford Gyan, Jr., M, Clemson (Sunyani, Ghana)
• Netted his first career hat trick in Clemson’s 4-1 victory at UCF.
• Scored his three goals on four shots.
• Leads the ACC with five goals this season.
 
DEFENSIVE – Blake Kelly, Jr., GK, Notre Dame (Holt, Michigan)
• Helped guide the Fighting Irish to victories over Harvard and Michigan.
• Totaled 11 saves in the wins.
• Recorded five saves against Michigan and six saves against Harvard.
 
Men’s Soccer Notes
• Four ACC teams remain unbeaten: Stanford (6-0), SMU (5-0-1), Louisville (4-0-1) and California (1-0-3).
• ACC teams are 39-13-11 (.706) against non-conference competition this season.
• League programs own three wins over top-five teams: Stanford vs. No. 2 San Diego, Clemson vs. No. 3 Furman, SMU at No. 4 Saint Louis.
