• The 12-team format for the College Football Playoff will feature, in order, the top four conference champions, followed by some combination of the top six at-large bids and the two highest-ranked remaining conference champions. Teams will be ordered based on the College Football Playoff rankings.
• The ACC and its bowl partners will make team selections based on several factors, including geographic proximity, avoiding repeat appearances and matchups, and regular-season won-loss records.
• Former Pac-12 teams, including Cal and Stanford, will be eligible for historical Pac-12 non-CFP bowl slots. If not selected by the CFP, Cal and Stanford will join all Pac-12 teams from 2020-2023 in populating the Alamo, Holiday, Las Vegas, Sun, L.A., Independence and ESPN Events bowl games.
