Catherine Greene brings more than a decade of collegiate basketball operations and leadership experience to her role as Director of Women’s Basketball for the ACC. Most recently, she served as Executive Director of Basketball Operations and Chief of Staff for Tennessee Lady Vol Basketball, where she oversaw team logistics, budgeting, and program strategy during a six-year tenure.
A native of Gastonia, N.C., Greene began her career at her alma mater, the University of North Carolina, where she earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees and served as head manager for the Tar Heels’ women’s basketball program. During her time as a manager, UNC captured four ACC Championships and made two Final Four appearances. Her first full-time role at UNC was in event management, where she contributed to the execution of numerous NCAA and ACC Championship events. She later held leadership roles with Georgia Tech and North Carolina women’s basketball before joining Tennessee.
Greene completed her Doctor of Education in Global Sport Leadership at East Tennessee State University in 2024 and remains an active member of the WBCA and Women Leaders in Sports.
With a career rooted in the ACC and game of basketball, Greene feels at home in her new role. Greene states, “Basketball has afforded me the opportunity to travel the world, build relationships, use sport as a vehicle to give back and grow the game I love.”
