Jackie Carson joined the Atlantic Coast Conference in July 2023, where she currently serves as the Senior Vice President of Women's Basketball.
 
Carson brings a wealth of administrative experience, having served as one of only two coaches on the NCAA Women’s Basketball Oversight Committee (WBOC) and as a member of the WBCA Board of Directors.
 
Carson, who was the head women's basketball coach at Furman for 13 years after spending five seasons as an assistant coach at James Madison, will serve as a member of the ACC’s Leadership Team and is responsible for planning, implementing, and executing the overall management of the league’s women’s basketball operation. She will serve as the primary liaison to the ACC women’s basketball head coaches and committee members and will oversee the league’s women’s basketball supervisor of officials. Carson’s responsibilities will also consist of the management and oversight of the annual Ally ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament, regular-season conference scheduling, liaison work with the conference’s television partners and the national basketball organizations including, but not limited to, the NCAA, WBCA, USA Basketball and Play4Kay.
 
A former Furman women’s basketball student-athlete, Jackie earned her Bachelor of Science in Health and Exercise Science/Pre-Medicine. She is the first person in the Southern Conference basketball history – men’s or women’s – to be named both the conference Coach of the Year and conference Player of the Year. In addition, she was named to the SoCon 100th Anniversay Women's Basketball Team and will be inducted in the Southern Conference Hall of Fame in March 2026. She is also a member of the C.D. Hylton High School Athletic Hall of Fame and the Furman University Hall of Fame and had her jersey retired in 2009.

Prior to her coaching tenure at Furman, Carson spent five seasons as Associate Head Coach and Assistant Coach at James Madison, two seasons at Bucknell University and one season with the Fairfax Stars Nike EYBL AAU Program that won the 2002 AAU National Championship.

Carson’s national leadership also includes her serving as an Executive Committee member and current President of the Women of Color Coaches Network, which is an organization comprised of current or former Division I Black female head coaches and administrators across the country.

Jackie is married to Rob Carson, a former 20+ year college administrator, and current employee of BSN Sports. The couple resides in Belmont, North Carolina, with their two daughters, Londyn and Lathyn.
