Duke Overcomes Seven-Run Deficit, Tops Campbell
 
ATHENS, Ga. (GoDuke.com) – Facing a seven-run deficit, No. 18 Duke outscored Campbell 15-0 over the final three frames to storm back for a 16-8 victory in an NCAA Athens Regional elimination game Saturday evening at Foley Field.
 
Campbell (35-26) built an 8-1 advantage through six before lightning in the area delayed the game for an hour and 37 minutes. Following the delay, Duke (41-16) outhit the Camels, 14-1, with eight hits coming in a breakout, 11-run ninth.
 
NCAA Athens Regional action continues Sunday. Georgia and Troy take the field at 12 p.m., tomorrow and Duke will face the loser of that contest at 6 p.m.
 
No. 6 Tar Heels Outlast Houston, 4-3
 
CHAPEL HILL (GoHeels.com) - No. 6 North Carolina picked up a gutsy 4-3 win over Houston Saturday night to stay in the winner's bracket of the NCAA Chapel Hill Regional. Gianluca Dalatri and Josh Hiatt both had big days on the mound while Zack Gahagan sparked the offense with his sixth home run of the year. UNC will face the winner of Sunday's first game between Houston and Purdue at 6 p.m. with a chance to move on the Super Regionals.
 
The win gives Carolina 40 wins on the year for the second year in a row and the 15th time in 20 seasons under head coach Mike Fox. The Tar Heels will play for a regional title for the 10th time under Fox Sunday at 6 p.m. against the Houston-Purdue winner.
 
Bailey, Brown Set Program Records in #Pack9’s 9-3 Win
 
RALEIGH, N.C. (GoPack.com) – Senior Brian Brown set the program record for career starts and freshman Patrick Bailey broke the program record for home runs by a freshman, as the ninth-ranked NC State baseball team defeated Northeastern, 9-3, Saturday afternoon in the NCAA Raleigh Regional at Doak Field at Dail Park.
 
The Wolfpack advances to play in the first game on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. versus the Army.
 
Commodores Defeat Clemson 4-3
 
CLEMSON, S.C. (ClemsonTigers.com)- Vanderbilt overcame an early 3-0 deficit to down No. 2 Clemson 4-3 in the Clemson Regional at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Saturday night. The Commodores, who improved to 2-0 in the regional, upped their season record to 33-25, while the Tigers dropped to 46-15.
 
Clemson plays No. 20 St. John's in an elimination game on Sunday at noon on ESPN3. The Tigers are the designated visiting team.
 
Florida State Season Ends on Walk-Off Home Run
 
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Seminoles.com) – Drew Parrish pitched 8.2 innings and allowed just four hits, but Elijah MacNamee hit a walk-off three-run home run to lead Mississippi State to a 3-2 win in an elimination game in the Tallahassee Regional Saturday afternoon. The Seminoles finished the season 43-19, while the Bulldogs improved to 32-26.
 
In front of a stunned Dick Howser Stadium crowd, MacNamee’s second home run of the weekend scored Jake Mangum and Hunter Stovall. Parrish (5-1) threw 133 pitches, the final 24 of which came after a 2.5-hour rain and lightning delay after the end of the eighth inning. He struck out seven and walked just two – Mangum and Stovall in the ninth inning.
 
No. 9 Texas Tech Defeats No. 21 Louisville in NCAA Regional
 
LUBBOCK, Texas (GoCards.com) - The No. 21 Louisville baseball team suffered its first loss of the 2018 NCAA Championship dropping a 10-4 decision to No. 9 national seed Texas Tech in Saturday night's winners' bracket game at Rip Griffin Park.
 
The Red Raiders (41-17) used a pair of three-run frames in the third and fourth innings to claim command for good against the Cardinals (44-18), who had their 16-game NCAA Regional winning streak halted. Louisville will face Kent State (40-17) in an elimination game on Sunday at 3 p.m., ET. The winning side in Sunday's elimination game will advance to the championship round of the NCAA Lubbock Regional against Texas Tech on Sunday at 7 p.m., ET.
