Greensboro, N.C. (theACC.com) – Miami’s Estela Perez-Somarriba and Virginia’s Vivian Glozman have been named ACC Women’s Tennis Co-Players of the Week, and Virginia’s Vivian Glozman has been named Freshman of the Week.
 
Perez-Somarriba had a strong showing in a 5-2 win over No. 17 Georgia Tech and a narrow 3-4 loss to No. 4 Florida State. Hailing from Madrid, Spain, the senior Hurricane defeated Georgia Tech’s No. 60-ranked Kenya Jones, 2-6, 6-4, 6-4, and Florida State’s Emmanuelle Salas, 6-1, 6-1, both at the No. 1 singles position. Perez-Somarriba’s win over Jones clinched a comeback victory for Miami.
 
A junior from Bellevue, Washington, Glozman went undefeated in the 4-1, win over No. 12 Michigan. She paired up with teammate Rosie Johanson won their doubles match at the No. 3 position over Andrea Cerdan and Bella Lorenzini, 6-2, and Glozman also notched a win over Michigan’s No. 94-ranked Alyvia Jones at the No. 5 singles spot, 6-3, 1-6, 6-3.
 
Subhash won the No. 1 singles match to help power Virginia’s win over Michigan. The rookie from Fairfax, Virginia, defeated the 35th-ranked Giulia Pairone, 6-3, 6-3, giving the Cavaliers a 2-0 lead in the match.
