GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) - For the ninth consecutive season, at least three Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Basketball teams are ranked in the final Associated Press Top 25 Poll, released by the organization on Tuesday.
ACC regular-season champion Louisville (28-4, 16-2) leads the conference at No. 6 in the poll, while ACC Tournament Champion NC State (28-4, 14-4) checks in at No. 8. Florida State (24-8, 11-7) rounds out the ranking for the league at No. 19.
All three teams have been ranked in the final AP poll in each of the last four seasons. Louisville has garnered nine straight and Florida State has earned six consecutive top-25 finishes in the poll. The Wolfpack's No. 8 ranking marks the best for the program since 1990-91, when the team was tabbed seventh in the nation.
Boston College and Duke each received votes in the final poll.
The conference’s two teams among the top 10 tied for the second most of any conference.
On Thursday, March 19, the AP will announce its All-America teams and the Player, Coach of the Year will be released on Monday, March 23.
The ACC had at least three teams ranked among the top 25 in each poll during the 2019-20 season, with a conference-best and league-record six teams garnering the honor in the preseason poll.
