Bracket Set For 2021 ACC Field Hockey Championship

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – The team seedings and tournament bracket have been set for the 2021 Atlantic Coast Conference Field Hockey Championship, which will be held Nov. 4-5 and 7 at J.S. Coyne Field on the campus of Syracuse University.

Louisville (16-2, 6-0) is the No. 1 seed for the second year in a row and earned a bye into Friday’s 1 p.m. semifinal game. The nationally fifth-ranked Cardinals will face the winner of Thursday’s 1 p.m. quarterfinal matchup between No. 4 Boston College (12-5, 3-3) and No. 5 Virginia (10-7, 3-3).

Other opening-day quarterfinal action on Thursday finds No. 7 Duke (6-10, 0-6) paired against No. 2 Syracuse (11-4, 4-2) at 3:30 p.m., while No. 3 North Carolina (10-6, 4-2) faces No. 6 Wake Forest (7-9, 1-5) at 6 p.m.

Friday’s second semifinal match is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. The semifinal winners will meet for the championship at noon on Sunday.

This year’s Championship will feature three teams currently ranked among the top 10 in the latest NFHCA poll – No. 5  Louisville, No. 9 Syracuse and No. 10 North Carolina. All seven ACC teams are ranked nationally, with Boston College at No. 13, Virginia at No. 14, Wake Forest at No. 19 and Duke at No. 25.

ACC Network will show all tournament action live, with Mike Corey handling play-by-play and Leah Secondo on color.

Full tournament books for the 2021 ACC Field Hockey Championship may be purchased on site for $10. Single-game adult tickets are $5 each. Youth 18 years of age and younger will be admitted free.
