Virginia’s Iacobucci, Wake Forest’s Glaister Earn ACC Weekly Field Hockey Honors

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Virginia midfielder Adele Iacobucci has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week, while Wake Forest goalkeeper Tori Glaister earned conference Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Iacobucci scored twice in Virginia’s 5-2 win against in-state foe James Madison on Sunday. Iacobucci's second goal was a breakaway scored while the Dukes held a two-player-up advantage (following back-to-back yellow cards for the Cavaliers) and capped the scoring. The Malvern, Pennsylvania, sophomore has scored six goals this season.

Glaister earned her second win of the season in Friday’s 4-1 victory at Duke with a career-high tying six saves. She was a key factor in Wake Forest's defense holding the Blue Devils scoreless for the first 52-plus minutes of Friday’s match. In three games this spring, the freshman from London has tallied 15 saves and has only allowed three goals while facing 39 shots.
