Clemson’s Logoleo, Duke’s Walters Earn Weekly ACC Softball Awards

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Clemson freshman infielder/outfielder Alia Logoleo has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Softball Player of the Week, while Duke’s Shelby Walters has been voted the Pitcher of the Week.

The ACC softball weekly awards are voted on by a 20-member panel from both the teams and the conference office.

Logoleo helped lead Clemson to the ACC regular-season championship at Syracuse this past weekend. The freshman from Nashville, Tennessee, hit .500 and slugged a whopping 1.500 on the weekend in three games after missing Friday’s contest. In the Tigers’ decisive game to clinch the regular-season title on Sunday, Logoleo exploded at the plate, hitting three home runs, including a grand slam, and a double. Her 10 RBI in Sunday’s game are the most by any Division I player since Feb. 23, 2019. No other player has recorded at least 10 RBI against a Power Five opponent since 2015.

Walters posted a 2-0 record in three appearances and two starts through 10.1 innings in last week’s series win against NC State. The junior from Cohutta, Georgia, pitched in Duke's first combined no-hitter on Friday night in the 10-0 five-inning win. Walters has now been a part of both of Duke's no-hitters this season and in program history. Walters only allowed six hits, six walks and tallied eight strikeouts in the series with a 0.00 ERA. Her first victory was in game three and her second came in relief in game four, pitching the final three frames to keep the Wolfpack off the board.
