GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Duke junior Gina Kim – the 2021 Atlantic Coast Conference individual champion – has been named the league's Women's Golfer of the Month for April.
A native of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Kim turned in an impressive run at the ACC Championship shooting 68, 69 and 69 for a 10-under, 206, to claim medalist honors. She became only the second ACC golfer to post three straight rounds in the 60s, while also tying for the second-lowest under-par score in conference history at 10-under.
Kim went 2-0 in match play competition, clinching the Blue Devils' wins over Virginia and Florida State to help Duke take home the ACC team title. She defeated No. 6-ranked Beatrice Wallin of Florida State, 3&2, and knocked off Jennifer Cleary of Virginia, 3&2. It was Duke's 22nd overall ACC Championship.
Earlier in April, she posted a 2-1 record in the Cavalier Match Play helping the Blue Devils win the team title.
