GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) -  The 2021 Wyndham Championship, which begins Thursday, Aug. 12, at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina, includes 22 participants with ties to the Atlantic Coast Conference. Greensboro has served as home of the ACC’s headquarters since its founding in 1953 at Sedgefield.

Clemson leads all ACC schools with five former student-athletes competing in the Greensboro stop of the PGA TOUR.  Duke and Georgia Tech have four golfers in the field, followed by Florida State and Wake Forest with three each. Louisville, Virginia and Virginia Tech have one each.
 
Wake Forest’s Webb Simpson earned his first career PGA TOUR victory in Greensboro in 2011 and enters this year’s tournament 19th in the Official World Golf Rankings. The tournament also features Wake's Will Zalatoris, who is ranked 29th in the world. 

Clemson's contingent is led by Lucas Glover, who has four career PGA TOUR victories, including a win at the John Deere Classic in Jully.  

Georgia Tech's Matt Kuchar has nine career PGA TOUR wins, the most of any ACC player in the field.
