Bracket Unveiled for 2022 ACC Field Hockey Championship

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – The team seedings and tournament bracket have been set for the 2022 Atlantic Coast Conference Field Hockey Championship, which will be held Nov. 1-2 and 4 (Tuesday-Wednesday and Friday) at Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium on the campus of Duke University.

Five-time defending champion North Carolina (15-0, 6-0 ACC) is the No. 1 seed and earned a bye into Wednesday’s 1 p.m. semifinal game. The nationally top-ranked Tar Heels will face the winner of Tuesday’s 1 p.m. quarterfinal matchup between No. 4 Boston College (8-9, 3-3) and No. 5 Syracuse (14-4, 3-3).

Other opening-day quarterfinal action on Tuesday finds No. 7 Duke (7-10, 0-6) paired against No. 2 Wake Forest (14-4, 5-1) at 3:30 p.m., while No. 3 Virginia (11-6, 3-3) faces No. 6 Louisville (12-6, 1-5) at 6 p.m.

Wednesday’s second semifinal match is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. The semifinal winners will meet for the championship at 2 p.m. on Friday.

This year’s Championship will feature four teams currently ranked among the top 10 in the latest NFHCA poll – No. 1 North Carolina, No. 5 Virginia, No. 8 Louisville and No. 9 Syracuse. All seven ACC teams are ranked nationally, with Wake Forest at No. 12, Boston College at No. 22 and Duke at No. 25.

ACC Network will show all tournament action live, with Leah Secondo and Suzanne Bush on the call.

Full tournament books for the 2022 ACC Field Hockey Championship may be purchased on site for $10. Single-game adult tickets are $5 each. Youth 18 years of age and younger will be admitted free. ACC students with a school ID will also be admitted free of charge.
