Twelve ACC Cross Country Teams Headed to NCAA Championships

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) –  Twelve Atlantic Coast Conference teams are scheduled to compete in the 2022 NCAA Cross Country Championships next Saturday (Nov. 19) at  Greiner Family OSU Course in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
 
The races will be streamed live on ESPNU and the ESPN App beginning at 10 a.m. ET.

Nine ACC teams (five women’s and four men’s) earned automatic spots in the NCAA Championships by placing first or second in their respective regionals during Friday’s competition. The Virginia women and the NC State and Wake Forest men were announced as at-large team selections on Saturday.
 
In addition, the following ACC runners from non-qualifying teams earned individual at-large spots in next weekend’s field:

The defending national champion NC State women, whose 36 all-time NCAA Championship berths are the most of any program nationally, entered the NCAA Regionals atop the USTFCCCA national rankings. The Wolfpack, which has held the top spot all season, is one of a nation-leading six ACC teams currently ranked among the top 30 of the most recent poll.
 
Notre Dame, which pushed NC State to the wire at last month’s ACC Championships before falling four points short in the team scoring, holds the No. 5 spot, followed by No. 12 Virginia, No. 15 North Carolina, No. 24 Florida State and No. 26 Syracuse.
 
The ACC also continues to lead all conferences with six teams ranked nationally in the USTFCCCA Men’s Coaches’ Poll, and all rank among the top 20. ACC champion Wake Forest leads the way at No. 7, followed by No. 10 Syracuse, No. 12 North Carolina, No. 13 Notre Dame, No. 15 NC State and No. 19 Virginia.

The women’s 6K championship race begins next Saturday’s action at 10:20 a.m. Eastern Time, followed by the men’s 10K race at 11:10 a.m. Please see here for ticket information.
