ACC Continues Strong Showing in Annual U.S. News & World Report ‘Best Colleges’ Rankings

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – For the 16th consecutive year, the Atlantic Coast Conference leads the way among Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) conferences in the “Best Colleges” rankings released by U.S. News & World Report. 
 
“The ACC’s 15 world-class schools continue to shine as one of the top collections of academic institutions within higher education,” said ACC Commissioner Jim Phillips, Ph.D. “Our schools’ dedication to excellence at every level is clear and these spectacular rankings are just one example of the ongoing commitment.”
 
Notables from this year’s rankings:

- The ACC has led all FBS conferences in the best average rank in each of the last 16 years.

- The average rank of ACC schools is 54.5, which leads all FBS conferences and is nearly five percentage points ahead of the next-closest peer conference.

- The ACC’s five schools among the top 30 are the most among FBS conferences.

- The ACC's seven schools ranked in the top 50 are the most among FBS conferences.

-The ACC’s 12 member schools among the top 70 are also the most among FBS conferences.
