CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) - North Carolina and NC State have been voted the favorites to claim the inaugural 2024 Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Gymnastics title following a vote of the league's four head coaches. Clemson came in third, followed by Pitt.
Making its debut as a conference sponsored sport in 2023-24, the conference has released the 2024 Preseason Watch List which features eight gymnasts as nominated by the league’s four gymnastics programs, along with the Newcomer List, featuring one true freshman from each program.
The ACC announced in 2021 that women’s gymnastics would become the league’s 28th sponsored sport beginning with the 2023-24 academic year. The ACC previously sponsored a conference championship in women’s gymnastics in 1984.
In the WGCA Preseason Rankings, NC State is No. 30, UNC is No. 32 and Clemson is No. 35.
The 2024 season officially begins on Friday, Jan. 5. ACC women's gymnastics will be featured on ACC Network and ESPN throughout the season, including the 2024 ACC Gymnastics Championships on Saturday, March 23 at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina. Tickets will be available for purchase in 2024.
