REENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – North Carolina junior third baseman Mac Horvath has been recognized as the Atlantic Coast Conference Baseball Player of the Week, while Clemson junior lefthander Caden Grice earned ACC Pitcher of the Week accolades.

ACC baseball weekly honors are determined by a vote of a select media panel and announced on Mondays throughout the regular season.

Clemson’s Grice was recognized for the second time this season after being named the ACC Co-Player of the Week on March 27. The conference weekly honor is the first for Horvath this season.

Horvath batted .563 in a 3-1 week for the Tar Heels and drove in an eye-opening 19 runs in the four games – including eight RBI in last Tuesday night’s win over UNC Wilmington and seven versus Virginia Tech on Saturday. The Rochester, Minnesota native hit a pair of three-run homers versus UNCW. His seven RBI versus Virginia Tech came on a grand slam and three-run homer and highlighted a day in which keyed a doubleheader sweep by going 5-for-8 with 11 RBI.

Horvath’s eight RBI versus UNCW were the most by a Tar Heel player since 2004, and his 19 RBI were the most by any player over a four-game stretch in UNC history. His 19 home runs and 56 RBI this season both stand as career highs, and he ranks among the ACC season leaders in both categories.

In Clemson's series-clinching win at Boston College on Saturday, Grice pitched 8.0 innings, allowing only two hits, one earned run and two walks with nine strikeouts to earn the win in the Tigers’ 6-3 victory. He set career highs for innings pitched and strikeouts, as it was the longest outing by a Tiger since 2021. On the season, he is 4-1 with a 3.50 ERA, .183 opponents' batting average and 57 strikeouts against 23 walks in 43.2 innings pitched over nine starts.

Grice led Clemson to a 3-1 week, with outstanding performances on the mound and at the plate. The Greer, South Carolina native also went 7-for-16 (.438) with two homers, three doubles, 10 RBIs, four runs, a 1.000 slugging percentage and .526 on-base percentage in four games at the plate.
