ACC Unveils Women's Gymnastics Weekly Awards

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – North Carolina's Lali Dekanoidze was named the first Atlantic Coast Conference Gymnast of the Week and Pitt's Emily Todd was tabbed the first women's gymnastics Newcomer of the Week.

Dekanoidze helped the Tar Heels place second in the UNC Quad Meet, recording a career-high 9.925 on vault to tie for the meet's highest score. The 2023 WCGA First Team All-American and EAGL Co-Specialist of the Year topped her previous best of 9.900 which she had scored six times prior. The Matthews, North Carolina, native is now tied for third highest score all-time in UNC history on vault. 

Negrete competed in three events for NC State at Georgia, highlighted by earning the individual titles on vault (9.875) and beam (9.900). Her score on beam was NC State's first 9.9+ score of the season. As the anchor in her three events, including floor, the Frisco, Texas, native led the way for the Wolfpack, with her first routine of the season resulting in a 9.875 on vault.

Todd made her collegiate debut in Pitt's second place finish at the Keystone Classic quad meet. Competing in three events, the Bristol, England, native produced her best score of the meet with a 9.800 on bars – receiving a 9.850 from one judge.
