CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Virginia Tech’s Cooper Flynn was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Wrestler of the Week following his performances last week, Jan. 1-7. It is his second conference weekly honor of the season.
 
Flynn went 2-0 overall for the week, recording a pair of nationally ranked top-12 wins at 125 pounds in duals versus No. 2 Missouri and No. 10 Cornell.
 
He continued his strong season with another upset victory against previously undefeated No. 2 Noah Surtin of Missouri, 10-3, in the first match of the day versus the Tigers. Five days later, he scored a 4-3 decision over No. 12 Brett Ungar of Cornell.
 
With the two wins, Flynn improved his record to 8-2 on the season.
