ACC Announces Week Four Outdoor Track and Field Performers of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Strong showings out of the state of Florida highlighted the Atlantic Coast Conference’s Outdoor Track and Field weekly honors throughout the fourth week of the season. Florida State’s Tyra Wilson was tabbed the Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week, while the Seminoles’ 4x100-meter relay team earned the track honors on the men’s side. Miami’s Russell Robinson was named the Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week, while Sophie Haag picked up her first career honor as the Women’s Outdoor Freshman of the Week.
 
Pitt’s Norrah Lemongo was named the ACC Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week after a strong shot put performance. Virginia Tech’s Vlad Puchko also picked up his first career honor as the ACC Men’s Outdoor Freshman of the Week.

ACC Men’s Outdoor Track Athletes of the Week
4x100-meter Relay Team, Florida State
The Florida State 4x100-meter relay team stole the show at the Crimson Tide Invitational over the weekend, turning in the third-fastest time in the nation at 39.06. The team of Keshaun Black, Ismael Kone, Neo Mosebi and Tyler Azcano cruised to victory in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and now sit atop the ACC.
 
ACC Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week
Tyra Wilson, So., Florida State, Columbia, Mo.
Wilson won the women's 400-meter hurdles, running a personal-best time of 57.03 at the Crimson Tide Invitational over the weekend. Her performance ranks seventh in program history, best in the ACC, and eighth in the nation. The nod is Wilson’s second weekly honor of the season after she previously won on March 26.
 
ACC Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week
Russell Robinson, Sr., Miami, Windermere, Fla.
Robinson, the 2024 NCAA Indoor Track and Field national champion in the triple jump, made his outdoor season debut in the event at the Hurricane Alumni Invitational on Saturday. The Windermere, Florida, native finished with a wind-legal 16.30m to claim first place in the event at the invitational. Robinson’s mark finished as the second-best triple jump in the NCAA this week. He now leads the ACC and ranks fourth nationally.
 
ACC Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week
Norrah Lemongo, Fr., Pitt, Yaoundé, Cameroon
Lemongo won the women's shot put at the South Florida Invitational this past weekend with a personal-best throw of 15.68 meters. The freshman from Yaoundé, Cameroon, ranks fourth in the ACC throughout the season. Lemongo joins Ilse Steigenga as the Panthers continue to dominate the weekly award, winning three of the four selections this season.
  
ACC Men’s Outdoor Freshman of the Week
Vlad Puchko, Fr., Virginia Tech, Minsk, Belarus
Puchko provided a strong performance for the Hokies on the opening day of the Tennessee Invite, finishing first in the discus throw with a personal-best sixth round mark of 61.26m (201' 0"). Puchko dominated the event with six clean throws, each good enough to land him a first-place finish and rank him among the top 25 in the NCAA. The Minsk, Belarus, native currently ranks eighth in the NCAA, first in the ACC, and second on the Hokies All-Time Performance List.
 
ACC Women’s Outdoor Freshman of the Week
Sophie Haag, Fr., Miami, Oldsmar, Fla.
Haag had a fantastic outing at the Hurricane Alumni Invitational, earning a personal-best time of 11.59 (+1.0) in the 100-meter dash. Haag also set a new personal-best in the 200-meters with 23.83 (+0.8). The Leesburg, Virginia, native also helped the Hurricanes clock a time of 44.89 in the 4x100-meter relay for a first-place finish.
