Beachum Sweeps Trio of National Freshman of the Year Awards

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) - Florida State's Jaysoni Beachum swept the trio of National Freshman of the Year awards as she earned the nod from TUCCI/NFCA, D1Softball and Softball America.

Beachum was a unanimous selection for the 2024 TUCCI/NFCA DI Freshman of the Year award, the association announced at the 2024 NCAA Women's College World Series banquet on Tuesday. She is the first Atlantic Coast Conference student-athlete as well as the first in Florida State program history to win the award. The rookie was one of five Seminoles, and just the third true freshman in school history, to garner Southeast Region First-Team honors from the organization as well.

The ACC Freshman of the Year is also the first to win all three awards in the league's history. The winner was voted by the Association’s Division I All-America Committee.

The Tallahassee, Florida, native was named the D1Softball Freshman of the Year on Wednesday, following her earning First-Team All-American honors from the organization on Tuesday.

Softball America awarded Beachum the Freshman of the Year after she was named to both the Freshman and Second-Team All-American lists.

Beachum helped lead Florida State to its 10th Super Regional appearance in the last 11 seasons, as well as the Seminoles' 25th appearance in the ACC Championship Game in their 33 seasons, with a team-leading a .417 batting average, .509 on-base percentage, 11 doubles, 16 home runs and 66 RBIs in her freshman campaign. Her .417 mark is the third-highest of any player in FSU history. She posted a .970 fielding percentage with only five errors throughout the season at third base.
