CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Three Atlantic Coast Conference return specialists in Brashard Smith of SMU and Tucker Holloway and Bhayshul Tuten of Virginia Tech were named to the 14th Annual Jet Award Preseason Watch List on Wednesday, July 31.
The Jet Award honors the most outstanding return specialist in college football and continues to celebrate the exciting talents of players who excel on punt and kickoff returns.
The preseason watch list features 16 standout players from across the nation who have demonstrated exceptional abilities in the return game. The winner of the 2024 Jet Award will be selected by a distinguished panel of voters including media members from the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA), former winners of the Jet Award, and two of our founders Johnny Rodgers and William Reed.
The award, named in honor of Heisman Trophy winner and College Football Hall of Famer Johnny "The Jet" Rodgers, will culminate with the presentation at the Jet Award Gala on April 10th, 2025.

- Six ACC head coaches were named to the 2024 Dodd Trophy Preseason Watch List, as announced by the Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year Foundation and the Peach Bowl, no other conference had more.
- Two of the three active coaches to win a national title reside in the ACC - Dabo Swinney led Clemson to national titles in 2016 and 2018. North Carolina’s Mack Brown won a national title at Texas in 2005.
- The 2024 ACC Football Championship Game will kick off in primetime at 8 p.m. ET on ABC on Saturday, Dec. 7, at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina.
