CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) - Atlantic Coast Conference Volleyball had eight players get drafted to the Major League Volleyball (MLV) Draft on Monday, November 24. The MLV consists of eight teams in eight major U.S. cities, with an additional team coming in 2027.
The ACC had three players from three different schools taken in the first round. Louisville’s Cara Cresse was selected as the No. 5 overall pick, while Pitt’s Bre Kelley and SMU’s Averi Carlson followed immediately behind at No. 6 (Orlando Valkyries) and No. 7 (Atlanta Vibe), respectively.
SMU’s Malaya Jones (No. 9 - Dallas Pulse), Miami’s Flormarie Heredia Colon (No. 10 - Columbus Fury) and Pitt’s Brooke Mosher (No. 15 - Omaha Supernovas) were all taken in the second round. Florida State’s Iane Henke (No. 24 – Orlando Valkyries) and Stanford’s Elia Rubin (No. 26 – San Diego Mojo) went in the third and fourth rounds, to the Orlando Valkyries and the San Diego Mojo, respectively.
SMU and Pitt were the lone ACC teams to have multiple players drafted on Monday, while the Orlando Valkyries were the only MLV team to draft more than one ACC player. Six of the eight MLV draftees were named to the 2025 ACC Preseason Volleyball team, while both Miami’s Heredia Colon and Stanford’s Rubin were named as semifinalists for the 2025 AVCA Division I National Player of the Year Award.
