CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) - In the week six set of weekly honors for the 2025 Atlantic Coast Conference Gymnastics season, California’s Mya Lauzon was named the ACC Gymnast of the Week. NC State’s Ashley Knight was tabbed the Specialist of the Week, while North Carolina’s JoJo Valahovic was named the Newcomer of the Week.
Lauzon earned ACC Gymnast of the Week honors for the third time this season and second consecutive week after earning four first-place finishes, including posting three scores of 9.9+ and a perfect 10.0 on floor. The Kent, Washington, native won bars (9.925), floor (10.000) and the all-around (39.750), while tying for first in vault (9.900) and third in beam (9.925). Lauzon is one of only two gymnasts in the nation to score a perfect 10.0 on floor this season, next to Olympic Gold Medalist and UCLA’s Jordan Chiles. She also ranks sixth in the nation in the all-around with an average score of 39.500 and is second in the nation in the all-around high-scores after her 39.750 last weekend.
Knight earned her second ACC Specialist of the Week award after two 9.900 performances in the win over Pitt last weekend. The sophomore out of Greensboro, North Carolina, won both vault and floor with scores of 9.900 for the second week straight of a 9.9+ overall performance.
Valahovic earned two podium finishes last week in the win over No. 24 Clemson. The Sagamore Hills, Ohio, native matched her personal record on beam with a 9.850 for the third time this year and set a new career high with her 9.900 on floor. Valahovic is one of three ACC freshmen to record a 9.9+ on floor this season.
