CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) - In the week eight set of weekly honors for the 2025 Atlantic Coast Conference Gymnastics season, California’s Mya Lauzon was named the ACC Gymnast of the Week. Stanford’s Anna Roberts was tabbed the Specialist of the Week, while North Carolina’s JoJo Valahovic was named the Newcomer of the Week.
For the fourth time this season, California’s Lauzon was named the ACC Gymnast of the Week. The Kent, Washington, native won the all-around versus Pitt with her second-highest score of the season and the second-highest score in conference history with a 39.700. Lauzon finished in the top two in all events, finishing in a tie for first in bars (9.925) and floor (9.950) and including placing in a tie for second place in vault (9.900) and beam (9.925). She helped lead Cal to the highest team score in ACC history with a win over Pitt.
Roberts was named ACC Specialist of the Week for the first time this season after helping lead Stanford to a win over Clemson. The junior out of Seattle, Washington, scored 9.9+’s in all three events that she competed in, including placing in a tie for second place in floor (9.925), posting an outright second-place finish in bars (9.900) and earning a first-place finish in vault with a 9.925.
Valahovic was named ACC Newcomer of the Week for the fourth consecutive week. The Tar Heel freshman tied for second in vault (9.875) before placing second in beam (9.950) and floor (9.875). Her 9.95 on beam matched her career high for the second meet in a row, which is tied for third all-time in UNC program history.
