CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) - California, the 2025 ACC Gymnastics Regular-Season Champion, earned the No. 1 seed in the upcoming 2025 Atlantic Coast Conference Gymnastics Championship, as announced by the conference on Monday, March 17. Stanford followed in second, NC State in third, North Carolina in fourth, while Clemson and Pitt rounded out seeding at No. 5 and No. 6, respectively.
The 2025 ACC Gymnastics Championship is set for Saturday, March 22, at the First Horizon Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina. This year’s championship will be split into two sessions with No. 5 Clemson and No. 6 Pitt competing in a dual-meet format at 2:30 p.m. ET. No. 1 California, No. 2 Stanford, No. 3 NC State and No. 4 North Carolina will compete in a quad-meet format at 7 p.m. ET. Both sessions will air live on the ACC Network.
Seedings are based on the National Qualifying Scores (NQS), which is based on a team's and an all-around competitor's six best regular-season-meet scores, of which three must be away. Out of those six, the highest score is eliminated and the remaining five scores are averaged. The NQS will also determine the seeds for the NCAA Gymnastics Regional competition.
Cal has been ranked in the top 10 of the NCAA Road to Nationals poll every week this season. The Golden Bears claimed the outright 2025 ACC Gymnastics Regular Season Championship title after going undefeated in conference competition this season. Cal leads the ACC in team scores in all five events while also leading in three events with individual scores. Mya Lauzon is the only gymnast in the ACC to hold the highest NQS score in more than one event as she leads the league in floor with an NQS of 9.955 and the all-around with an NQS of 39.650. Lauzon is also the only ACC gymnast to record a perfect score on any event this season, with a 10.0 on floor in a win against Stanford on Friday, February 7. Madelyn Williams leads the conference and is No. 3 in the nation in bars with an NQS of 9.940. Cal finished the regular season with an overall record of 24-2 and 6-0 in conference.
After closing out the regular season tied for second in the conference with a 4-2 record, Stanford will enter the 2025 ACC Gymnastics Championship as the No. 2 seed. The Cardinal are headlined by Anna Roberts and Brenna Neault, who lead the conference in vault and beam, respectively. Neault is also ranked No. 8 in the nation in beam with an NQS of 9.925.
NC State enters this year’s championship looking to defend its 2024 ACC Gymnastics Championship title. The Wolfpack are headlined by reigning ACC Specialist of the Year Chloe Negrete, who earned 2025 All-ACC laurels in floor and balance beam, and Ashley Knight, who was named to the 2025 All-ACC team in vault. Negrete sits at No. 8 nationally on beam.
North Carolina will round out the second session with the No. 4 seed. The Tar Heels are highlighted by All-ACC bars selection Lali Dekanoidze and All-ACC vault selection JoJo Valahovic. Dekanoidze ranks second in the ACC and eighth in the nation on bars. Valahovic was named the ACC Newcomer of the Week four consecutive weeks this season and four times overall, marking the most of any ACC newcomer in league history.
No. 5 seed Clemson and No. 6 seed Pitt will compete in the first session of the 2025 ACC Gymnastics Championships. The Tigers are coming off of a senior night upset win over No. 25 Penn State. Clemson claimed its third-highest score of the 2025 campaign in front of a crowd of 8,239 after finishing with a season-high 49.075 on beam. The Panthers recorded their second-highest team score in program history with a win over West Virginia on Sunday, March 9. In the 196.575-196.275. win, six Panthers recorded personal bests and Pitt notched season highs in vault, beam and floor.

- Eight ACC gymnasts were named as nominees for the 2025 AAI Award, which is presented to the most outstanding collegiate senior female gymnast in the country. Pitt leads with three nominees in Jah’Liyah Bedminster, Elizabeth Cesarone and Jordyn Ewing. California’s Mya Lauzon, Clemson’s Rebecca Wells, NC State’s Chloe Negrete, North Carolina’s Julia Knower and Stanford’s Brenna Neault were all named as nominees as well.
- On Friday, February 28, Clemson’s Brie Clark became the first collegiate gymnast in NCAA history to successfully land the “Biles I” skill, a double layout with a half twist in the second flip, on floor.
- California’s Mya Lauzon earned a perfect 10.0 in floor on Friday, February 7, in a win against Stanford. Lauzon is the only ACC gymnast to record a perfect 10.0 this season in any event.
- California recorded its highest team score of the season on Sunday, February 23, with a score of 197.7750. This is the second-highest team score in conference history.
- Stanford recorded its season-best team score on Friday, February 7, with a score of 197.400.
- NC State posted its highest season-opening score in program history with a 195.825 against Towson on Saturday, January 4.
- North Carolina posted its highest season-opening road score in program history with a 195.225 against Alabama on Friday, January 10.
- Cal and Stanford are in their first season in ACC Gymnastics after joining the conference on August 2, 2024. The Golden Bears were the national runner-up at the 2024 NCAA Championships, while Stanford was an NCAA Championships qualifier.
- The ACC announced in 2021 that women’s gymnastics would become the league’s 28th sponsored sport beginning with the 2023-24 academic year. The ACC previously sponsored a conference championship in women’s gymnastics in 1984.
