CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) - The 2025 National Collegiate Women’s Gymnastics Championships regional selections were announced on Monday, March 24, by the NCAA with No. 6 California, No. 13 Stanford, No. 19 NC State, No. 22 North Carolina and No. 27 Clemson as part of the 36-team field.
The top 36 teams based on the national qualifying score (NQS) were selected for regional competition. The committee named the top 16 teams and seeded them in the bracket, while teams 17-36 were placed geographically at one of the four regional sites. Seeding determined at the time of selections will be maintained through the championship. Nine teams will compete at each of the four regional sites.
Clemson, California, North Carolina and NC State will all head to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, for the Alabama Regional. The Tigers are the lone ACC team competing in the first round as they take on Rutgers. In the second round, No. 6 seed California and North Carolina will compete in a quad meet against No. 11 Alabama and Iowa, while NC State will go up against No. 3 Florida, No. 14 Oregon State and the winner of Clemson versus Rutgers. The Tuscaloosa Regional begins on Thursday, April 3, with the regional final set for Sunday, April 6.
No. 13 seed Stanford will head to Salt Lake City, Utah, to take on Utah, Denver, and the winner of BYU versus Utah State’s first-round dual meet in the Utah Regional.
Pitt had one gymnast qualify as an individual event specialist in Elizabeth Cesarone. Cesarone will head to University Park, Pennsylvania, on April 2-5, for the Pennsylvania Regional. Clemson’s Madison Minner (vault), Hannah Clark (bars) and Brie Clark (floor) are the only other ACC gymnasts to qualify as individual event specialists.
The top two teams from each regional will receive an automatic berth to the national championships. In addition, the top all-around competitor and top event specialist from round two at each regional (who is not on a team advancing to the nationals) will advance to the national championships. Event specialist qualifiers will only compete in the events they qualified.
The 2025 national championship will take place from April 17-19 at the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.
