CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – With just two weeks remaining in the Atlantic Coast Conference women’s tennis regular season, six teams have six wins or more in conference play, headlined by California and Duke sitting atop of the conference standings at 8-0 heading into Week 13.
All 17 ACC teams will be in action this weekend, with 16 in conference play and SMU set to host two non-conference clashes.
Highlighting the action this week are 16 ranked matchups, including four top-25 showdowns with No. 7 North Carolina at No. 25 Stanford (4 p.m. ET) and No. 4 Duke at No. 16 California (4:30 p.m. ET) on Friday, April 4, and the No. 7 Tar Heels at the No. 16 Golden Bears (3 p.m. ET) and the No. 4 Blue Devils at the No. 25 Cardinal (5 p.m. ET) on Saturday, April 5.
Other key ACC matches include No. 35 Clemson at No. 30 Notre Dame (4 p.m. ET) on Friday and No. 26 Georgia Tech at No. 30 Notre Dame (11 a.m. ET) on Sunday.
No. 71 Miami will host No. 36 Wake Forest (Friday, noon ET) and No. 12 NC State (Sunday, noon ET), No. 68 Syracuse will welcome No. 60 Virginia Tech (Friday, 3 p.m. ET) and No. 5 Virginia (Sunday, 11 a.m. ET), No. 75 Florida State will take on NC State (Friday, 4 p.m. ET) and Wake Forest (Sunday, noon ET) and No. 70 Louisville will play at home versus No. 26 Georgia Tech (Friday, 4 p.m. ET) and No. 35 Clemson (Sunday, noon ET).
Six ACC teams were ranked in the top 25 of the most recent ITA Division I Women’s Collegiate Tennis Team Rankings (April 1), highlighted by three teams in the top 10 in Duke (No. 4), Virginia (No. 5) and North Carolina (No. 7). NC State (No. 12), California (No. 16) and Stanford (No. 25) are also in the top 25.
In the latest ITA National Doubles Rankings of the spring season (April 1), the ACC had the top two teams - Elanie Chervinsky and Melodie Collard of Virginia (No. 1) and Maddy Zampardo and Gabriella Broadfoot of NC State (No. 2) – and a total of eight teams in the top 25 overall.

Just outside of the top 25 are Elaine Chervinsky of Virginia (No. 26), Annabelle Xu of Virginia (No. 30) and Sara Ziodato of Virginia (No. 32).

- Georgia Tech’s Scarlett Nicholson was tabbed the ACC Women’s Tennis Player of the Week, Duke’s doubles team of Emma Jackson and Liv Hovde was named the Doubles Team of the Week and Stanford’s Valerie Glozman was voted the Freshman of the Week for matches played March 24-30.
- The ACC will be looking to build on the 2024 fall season, which saw Virginia’s senior duo of Elaine Chervinsky and Melodie Collard win the 2024-25 NCAA Division I Women’s Tennis Doubles Championship. This was the first year the NCAA held the individual championships in the fall.
- Over the fall slate, ACC women’s tennis players earned 15 ITA All-American honors in either singles or doubles at the 2024 NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships. The complete list of All-American student-athletes will be announced at the end of the 2024-25 season when all criteria have been exhausted.
- For the third consecutive year, the Atlantic Coast Conference and ACC Network have teamed up with Cracked Racquets to produce 14 CrossCourt Cast shows during ACC conference play.
