CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – The fourth weekend of the Atlantic Coast Conference outdoor track & field season will commence on Thursday, April 10, with eight teams in action. Throughout the weekend, a total of 10 ACC programs will compete in meets throughout the country.
The action around the conference will kick off in Durham, North Carolina, on Thursday, April 10, as Clemson, Duke, North Carolina, NC State, Syracuse and Virginia will each compete in the Duke Invitational. All three days of the Duke Invitational will be streamed on ACCNX, beginning at noon ET on Thursday, Friday, April 11, and Saturday, April 12.
Louisville will also compete on Thursday as the Cardinals head to Ramona, Oklahoma, for the Oklahoma Throws Series. The three-day event will feature several of the world’s highest-ranked throwers.
Three teams for the ACC will head to College Station, Texas, for the 44 Farms Team Invite, beginning on Friday. The two-day event will feature Notre Dame, SMU and Virginia Tech and will begin at noon ET on Friday.
Georgia Tech will head to the Alabama Invitational in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, while Virginia Tech travels to Columbia, South Carolina, for the Gamecock Invite. Syracuse will compete in a pair of meets in the state of Rhode Island, taking part in the Friar Invitational and the Ocean State Cup, while Pitt will venture to Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, for the Bison Outdoor Challenge. All five track meets will begin on Friday.
Five ACC women’s outdoor track & field programs are ranked in the top 25 of the USTFCCCA Track & Field Ratings Index, released on Tuesday, April 8. Louisville leads the ACC at No. 11, closely followed by No. 12 Duke and No. 13 Clemson. California comes in at No. 20 and Stanford’s rounds out the league’s ranked teams at No. 24. On the men’s side, Florida State is ranked No. 12 and Cal is ranked No. 22.
