Pitt’s Luca Augustine Headlines 2024-25 Wrestling All-ACC Academic Team

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – The recipient of the NCAA ELITE 90 award for the 2025 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships, Luca Augustine, was named the 2024-25 Atlantic Coast Conference Wrestling Scholar-Athlete of the Year and headlines the Wrestling All-ACC Academic Team announced on Thursday.

The first ACC wrestler to earn the ELITE 90 award, which is awarded to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average at the finals site for each of the NCAA's 90 championships, Augustine is majoring in biological sciences with plans to pursue a career in the medical field.

A three-time NWCA Scholar All-American, earning honors for a third-straight time this season, Augustine finished as the runner-up at the 2025 ACC Wrestling Championship at 174 pounds to earn All-ACC honors. An NCAC qualifier for the third time in his collegiate career, the redshirt junior finished the season with a 20-9 overall record and advanced to the Round of 12 at the NCAA Championship, finishing just one win short of becoming an All-American.

A total of 43 student-athletes, including 12 All-ACC members, were named to the 2024-25 Wrestling All-ACC Academic Team, with each of the league’s seven programs boasting multiple selections.

Academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one’s academic career. In addition, student-athletes must have competed in at least 50 percent of their team’s matches on the season.
