CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Two Atlantic Coast Conference women’s tennis programs – North Carolina and Duke – will compete in the quarterfinals of the 2025 NCAA Division I Women’s Tennis Championship on May 15 at the Hurd Tennis Center in Waco, Texas.
The winners of the quarterfinal round will advance to the semifinals on Saturday, May 17.
No. 5 seed North Carolina (26-4) will face No. 13 seed LSU (24-7) at 2 p.m. ET. The Tar Heels, the 2025 ACC Women’s Tennis Champions, are making their 13th NCAA Elite Eight appearance since 2002. They enter the match riding an 11-match win streak and are aiming for their first semifinal appearance since 2023.
No. 8 seed Duke (24-3) takes on No. 1 seed Georgia (26-3) at 11 a.m. ET. This marks Duke’s 23rd trip to the NCAA quarterfinals. The Blue Devils have won three straight matches since falling to Virginia in the ACC Championship semifinals on April 19. Duke’s only losses this season have come to Virginia (twice) and Ohio State.
This year’s team championship is part of a two-year pilot program in which the NCAA singles and doubles championships were moved to the fall (beginning in 2024).
