CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – The seeds and lane assignments have been set for the 2025 ACC Rowing Championship, scheduled for May 16-17 on Lake Hartwell in Clemson, South Carolina. Stanford, ranked No. 1 nationally in the latest Pocock/Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association Poll, has earned the top seed in all five events.
Seeding was determined by a vote of the league’s head coaches.
Last year, Syracuse captured its first-ever ACC Championship in dramatic fashion, winning a tiebreaker over Virginia with a victory in the Varsity Eight Grand Final. Both teams finished with 90 points, but the Orange claimed the title as their Varsity Eight crossed the finish line first with an ACC Championship-record time of 6:09.814, more than five seconds ahead of the Cavaliers.
The 2025 ACC Rowing Championship starts Friday, May 16 at 8:05 a.m. with the Third Varsity Eight heats, followed by the Varsity Eight, Second Varsity Eight, Varsity Four and Second Varsity Four. There will be two heats of each event.
On Saturday, May 17, the Petite Final will be held prior to the Grand Final of each event with action set to begin at 8:05 a.m. The order of events includes the Third Varsity Eight, Second Varsity Four, Varsity Four, Second Varsity Eight and Varsity Eight.
The ACC is tied for the most teams in the latest Pocock/CRCA Poll with seven, headlined by Stanford’s No. 1 ranking. Following the Cardinal is California (No. 9), Syracuse (No. 12), Virginia (No. 13), Duke (No. 18), Clemson (No. 23) and North Carolina (No. 25).
ACC Network Extra will provide live coverage of both the preliminaries on Friday and the finals on Saturday. Admission is free for fans attending the championship.
