CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) - Ten former Atlantic Coast Conference softball standout players are set to hit the field in the inaugural Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL) Opening Day on Saturday, June 7.
The AUSL is a professional women’s softball league featuring four teams – the Bandits, Blaze, Talons and Volts - playing a 24-game season across 10 major cities in the United States. The teams will each be assigned to a single city when the league becomes city-based in 2026.
The ACC had four former student-athletes taken in the 2025 AUSL Inaugural Draft in January. Florida State’s Jessi Warren (INF) and Kalei Harding (OF) were selected along with Clemson’s McKenzie Clark (OF) and Duke’s Caroline Jacobsen (OF). Warren and Clark were drafted to the Volts, Harding was drafted to the Blaze and Jacobsen was drafted to the Talons.
The ACC also had four student-athletes selected in the 2025 AUSL College Draft on Saturday, May 3. Virginia Tech’s Emma Lemley (P) and Cori McMillan (OF) were both drafted making the Hokies the only ACC program, and just one of two programs in the nation, with two players drafted. Both Hokies were both drafted in the first round, as the Blaze took Lemley third overall and the Bandits took McMillan fourth. Florida State’s Michaela Edenfield (C) was taken by the Volts in the second round as the eighth overall pick, while Duke’s Ana Gold (INF) was taken ninth overall as the first pick in the third round by the Blaze.
Former Duke standout catcher Kelly Torres was picked up by the Bandits on Thursday, May 15, while 2025 All-ACC Third-Team selection in Clemson pitcher Brooke McCubbin signed with the Blaze on Wednesday, May 28.
The inaugural AUSL season kicks off on Saturday with the Talon and Bandits going head-to-head at 3 p.m. ET in Rosemont, Illinois, and the Volts and Blaze facing off at 6 p.m. ET in Wichita, Kansas. The full 2025 AUSL Season Schedule can be found
