ACC Well-Represented in 2025 WNBA Playoffs

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – With the WNBA Playoffs presented by Google set to begin Sunday, September 14, 18 former standouts from current Atlantic Coast Conference schools will compete for the WNBA title.

The top-seeded Minnesota Lynx, seeking a return to the WNBA Finals for the second consecutive season, features four former standouts with Notre Dame duo Kayla McBride and Jessica Shepard, Stanford’s Alanna Smith and Virginia’s Camryn Taylor.

The Indiana Fever, Las Vegas Aces and Seattle Storm also boast four ACC alums on each of their playoff rosters, while the Phoenix Mercury have two. The 18 players surpass last year’s total of 12 and mark the most since the league sent 22 players to the WNBA Playoffs in 2021.

The postseason tips off Sunday with all four first-round matchups. Action begins at 1 p.m. ET, with every game airing on ESPN or ABC.
