CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – The return of ACC Friday Night Duals headlines a full slate of wrestling action this Friday, January 30, as the Atlantic Coast Conference officially begins its countdown to the 2026 ACC Wrestling Championship.
 
Friday’s action features four dual matches, including three ACC conference contests and two top-15 matchups, led by a pivotal battle for sole possession of first place in the ACC standings when No. 7 Virginia Tech visits No. 8 NC State. The match will air Friday at 7 p.m. ET on ACC Network as the opening event of the ACC Friday Night Duals series.
 
Virginia Tech (2-0) and NC State (3-0) both enter the weekend unbeaten in ACC dual competition, setting the stage for a marquee conference showdown in Raleigh.
 
Another top-15 league matchup will see No. 14 Pitt travel to No. 11 North Carolina on Friday at 7 p.m. ET on ACCNX, while Duke hosts Virginia in additional conference action at the same time on ACCNX.
 
Out-of-conference competition rounds out the evening, as No. 25 Stanford hosts Cal Poly in a non-league dual scheduled for 10 p.m. ET.
 
Tickets are on sale now for the 2026 ACC Wrestling Championship, scheduled for Sunday, March 8, at Cassell Coliseum in Blacksburg, Virginia. Noting ACC Wrestling
  • Five ACC programs were once again ranked in the most recent NWCA Division I Men's Wrestling Coaches Poll (Jan. 27), with two teams ranked in the top 10: Virginia Tech (No. 7), NC State (No. 8), North Carolina (No. 11), Pitt (No. 14) and Stanford (No. 25).
    • The same five programs are also ranked in the FloWrestling Dual Team Rankings, the InterMat Dual Rankings and the WrestleStat Dual Rankings.
  • ACC programs account for 45 ranked wrestlers in the InterMat Individual Rankings (Jan. 27), with representation across the top 33 of every weight class listed.
    • Four weight classes feature five ranked ACC athletes: 125, 133, 141 and 174.
  • ACC teams hold a combined 45-21 record in non-conference dual matches during the 2025–26 season.
  • Tickets are on sale now for the 2026 Atlantic Coast Conference Wrestling Championship hosted by Virginia Tech on Sunday, March 8, at Cassell Coliseum in Blacksburg, Virginia.
  • The 2026 NCAA Division I Men’s Wrestling Championships will be held at Rocket Arena in Cleveland, Ohio, from March 19-21, 2026.
