This Week in ACC Gymnastics

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) - The second week of the 2026 Atlantic Coast Conference Gymnastics season will begin on Friday, January 9, as North Carolina, NC State, Pitt and Stanford kick off their seasons.

North Carolina will travel to Gainesville, Florida, to take on Florida, Temple and West Virginia in a quad meet on Friday. The Tar Heels are led by key returners in Kaya Forbes and Gwen Fink, who were named to the 2026 ACC Preseason Watch List.

NC State will head to Auburn, Alabama, to open up its season against Auburn. Junior Ashley Knight and sophomore Syniya Thomas, who were named to the ACC Preseason Watch, return to headline the Wolfpack.

Clemson, which started the season last weekend with a win over Towson, will return to action versus Alabama in Clemson, South Carolina, on Friday. California, who came in second place against UCLA, Washington and Oregon State last weekend, will head to West Valley, Utah, to take on Michigan, Michigan State and Kentucky in the Sporuts Farmers Market Collegiate Quad meet on Friday. 

Pitt hits the road to Denton, Texas, to meet Texas Woman’s University on the mat on Sunday, January 11, at 3 p.m. ET. The Panthers are led by Preseason Watch List honorees Jaime Pratt and Hallie Copperwheat.

Reigning ACC Champion Stanford will begin its 2026 campaign with a trip to Denver, Colorado, to face off with Denver on Sunday. The Cardinal were picked to win the league in the 2026 ACC Preseason Coaches Poll, and are headlined by ACC Preseason Watchlist members Anna Roberts and Sienna Robinson.

Five out of six ACC teams were ranked in the 2026 WCGA Preseason Gymnastics Poll, led by Stanford in the No. 3 spot. Clemson sits at No. 19, California at No. 20, NC State at No. 23 and North Carolina at 24.

  • Five ACC teams were ranked in the top 25 of the 2026 WGCA Preseason Coaches Poll: Stanford (No. 13), Clemson (No. 19), California (No. 20), NC State (No. 23) and North Carolina (No. 24).
  • Reigning ACC Champion Stanford has been voted the favorite to win the 2026 ACC Women's Gymnastics title, following a vote of the league's six head coaches. Clemson came in second, followed by reigning ACC regular-season champion California in third.
  • ESPN networks will once again serve as the home of college gymnastics, delivering wall-to-wall coverage of the 2026 NCAA Women’s Gymnastics season across ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, SEC Network, ACC Network and ESPN+. All meets will be available to stream on the ESPN App via ESPN DTC or Pay TV authentication, with hundreds more live on ESPN+.
