Virginia Tech’s Eddie Ventresca Named ACC Wrestler of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Virginia Tech’s Eddie Ventresca was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Wrestler of the Week for competition in Week 15 of the 2025-26 season, it was announced on Tuesday.
 
Ventresca and the Hokies will attempt to finish the ACC regular season undefeated and win the 2025-26 ACC Regular-Season Dual Meet Championship outright with a win over Duke on Friday, February 20, at 7 p.m. ET in Blacksburg, Virginia.

Eddie Ventresca, R-Sr., 125 pounds, Virginia Tech (Roxbury, New Jersey)
  • Secured two top-15 victories at 125 pounds for the week.
  • Opened the ACC Friday Night Dual with a 7-2 win over No. 13 Kysen Terukina of North Carolina, a multi-time NCAA qualifier.
  • Helped Virginia Tech clinch at least a share of the ACC Regular-Season Dual Meet Championship with a 29-9 victory over No. 13 North Carolina.
  • Avenged his 2025 NCAA semifinal matchup with a 2-1 tiebreaker victory over No. 7 Troy Spratley of No. 3 Oklahoma State in a top-10 non-conference dual on Sunday, February 15.
  • Played a pivotal role in the Hokies earning seven top-25 dual-match team victories this season.
  • Improved to 17-2 overall on the year.
