CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Conference play will continue throughout the Atlantic Coast Conference as 14 baseball teams meet in a total of seven league series over the weekend, March 20-22.
A pair of top-25 series will headline the ACC slate this weekend, both beginning on Friday, March 20. The No. 11 Florida State Seminoles will host No. 10 NC State for three games with first pitch set for 6 p.m. ET on Friday. In Charlottesville, Virginia, the No. 9 Cavaliers will welcome No. 24 Wake Forest, with the series also beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday.
All three games between the Seminoles and Wolfpack will be streamed on ACCNX, while Sunday’s game between the Cavaliers and Demon Deacons will be televised on ACC Network at 1 p.m. ET.
Georgia Tech, which is ranked third in the most recent D1Baseball poll, will head to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, for a three-game series against Pitt. Both the Yellow Jackets and Panthers won their series last weekend and look to build on their strong starts to conference play. The Panthers bring loads of momentum into the series, winning eight of their last 10 games and boasting a flawless 5-0 mark at home this season.
Notre Dame will host No. 19 Clemson in a three-game set beginning Friday at 4:30 p.m. ET on ACCNX. Both the Fighting Irish and Tigers have won seven of their last 10 games and look to bounce back from conference series losses last weekend.
California will travel over 3,000 miles to Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, to face a red-hot Boston College squad. The Eagles have won seven of their last 10 games and remain undefeated at home this season. On the other hand, Cal looks to snap a five-game skid after jumping out to a 13-3 start to the year.
After taking two of three games last weekend, Louisville looks to continue its winning ways when it travels east to Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The Cardinals will square off with No. 14 North Carolina, who posted a three-game sweep of Cal last weekend. The Tar Heels currently sit second in the ACC standings with a 4-2 record in league play and 14-2-1 overall. Louisville, however, has won 12 of its last 14 games, scoring 12 runs per game during the stretch.
Virginia Tech will welcome Duke to Blacksburg, Virginia, for three games this weekend. The Blue Devils will look to build off a series win against Miami, while the Hokies will look to extend its two-game winning streak, including the series finale against then-No. 14 Virginia.
Miami and Stanford will each play a non-conference series this weekend. The Hurricanes will welcome the Big East’s Creighton for three games, while the Cardinal will square off with Utah Valley of the WAC for four games.
