CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) - The ninth week of the 2026 Atlantic Coast Conference Softball season brings a full slate of conference matchups beginning Thursday, April 2.
Thursday’s games are highlighted by a top 25 matchup between No. 24 Stanford and No. 14 Washington at 8 p.m. ET. The Cardinal will face the Huskies again on Saturday, April 4, at 4 p.m. ET.
Conference competition is headlined by a top 25 series between No. 17 Virginia and No. 19 Duke. The Cavaliers will travel to Durham, North Carolina, for a matchup against the Blue Devils beginning on Thursday at 6 p.m. ET. The second game will begin on Friday, April 3 at 6 p.m. ET, while the series will conclude at 1 p.m. ET on Saturday. The series will be broadcast live on ACCNX.
Five ACC teams are ranked in the Week 8 ESPN.com/USA Softball Top 25 Poll, led by Florida State at No. 10. Joining the Seminoles were Virginia Tech at No. 12, Virginia at No. 17, Duke at No. 19 and Stanford at No. 24.
Noting ACC Softball
- The ACC has had four players named as Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division I National Players of the Week: Emily LeGette - North Carolina (2x), Bella Cabral - Virginia, Zoe Prystajko - Stanford and Shelby McKenzie - Florida State.
- Virginia head coach Joanna Hardin recorded her 300th career win on February 20.
- Clemson head coach John Rittman recorded his 1000th career win on February 28.
- Stanford head coach Jessica Allister recorded her 600th career win on March 28.
- Florida State head coach Lonni Alameda recorded her 1000th career win March 29.
- Florida State was voted the preseason favorite to win the 2026 ACC Softball title by the league’s 15 head coaches.
- Seven members of the Preseason All-ACC softball team were named to the USA Softball Top 50 Watch List for the 2026 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year. Among the list are: Jaysoni Beachum (Florida State), Macey Cintron (Clemson), Jazzy Francik (Florida State), Kennedy Harp (Florida State), River Mahler (Stanford), Aminah Vega (Duke) and Isa Torres (Florida State).
- Virginia will host the 2026 ACC Softball Championship from Wednesday, May 6, to Saturday, May 9, at Palmer Park in Charlottesville, Virginia.
